How to get work in UAE events,
freelance or full-time
Register with UAE event staffing agencies like THA, Vibes, Xenial and JAM, and make a Liveforce profile, the app THA and Vibes book crew through. Sort out your LinkedIn, because most event jobs are posted by the hiring manager as a personal post, not on a job board. Then message event companies directly.
The 2026–27 season opens with ADIPEC on 2 November and runs to Gulfood in March. Crew for GITEX GLOBAL, 7 to 11 December, get booked from mid-October, so get on the agencies' lists now.
Before you start
This guide is free. Use it like you paid for it.
It lists 36 companies that hire event crew in the UAE, with a link to each, the season's big shows and when crew get booked for them, the apps agencies book shifts through, five courses, a message template, and the 240 AED a day floor the HUSTLERS community holds.
No email wall and no follow-up sequence. Do the steps, and send it to someone who is looking for work.
If you only have one evening, do section 02 (LinkedIn) and section 04 (agencies).

What the UAE events job market is really like
Summer is quiet. Work picks up from September.
The UAE events market in 2026
The conflict period hit hard and agencies went quiet. The events it postponed are stacking up for Q4 2026 and early 2027.
In short: the agencies are already planning for Q4. Get on their lists before they start hiring.
02
How to set up LinkedIn so UAE event agencies find you
Your LinkedIn is your CV, your portfolio, and your first impression, all in one. Most jobs in this industry are posted by people, not job boards. So your profile must be sharp before you start connecting.
01
A professional profile photo
A blurry, dark or casual photo loses you the job before anyone reads your profile. Dress in what you'd wear on-site: smart casual, clean, professional. Use natural light or get it done at a professional photography studio. Edit with Photoshop, Lightroom, or free tools like Remini / Canva. Plain background preferred (white, grey, or dark). Your face should take up 60 to 70% of the frame.
HIGHEST PRIORITY
02
Write the headline recruiters search for
Don't write "Freelancer". That tells nobody anything. Write what HR managers and operations directors search for.
Line 1: Who you are + how many years + your specialty Line 2: Types of events you've worked (concerts, exhibitions, marathons, F1, etc.) Line 3: Key skills (crowd management, zone control, briefing teams, etc.) Line 4: Open to freelance & permanent opportunities in UAE / GCC
FIRST IMPRESSION
04
Add every past job, with photos
Add every single event you've worked. Even one-day jobs. Each entry should include:
→ Agency / company name
→ Event name (Dubai Run, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, GITEX, ADIPEC, etc.)
→ Your role and brief description of responsibilities
→ Upload photos from the event, media section of each experience. This is your proof. Credibility is visual in this industry.
Tip: Even if the company name was a staffing agency (THA, Vibes, Xenial), add the actual event as the role context. Recruiters search by event type as well as company name.
PROOF OF WORK
05
Add the right skills keywords
LinkedIn's algorithm ranks you by skills. Add all that apply:
Once your profile is polished, start your daily connection routine. Target decision-makers who hire directly. Not other freelancers looking for the same jobs as you.
Job titles to target at event companies & staffing agencies:
Tip: Most event jobs in UAE get posted as a personal post by the hiring manager. NOT on the jobs tab. So following these people finds you more work than checking the job listings every day.
DO THIS DAILY
07
Search LinkedIn posts for jobs
Don't just browse the jobs tab. Search in the Posts section of LinkedIn for:
Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre
The lead time: GITEX crew get booked from mid-October for a show that opens on 7 December, so about seven weeks out. Use the same rule for every show above: be on the agencies' lists two months before the dates you want. Two changes to know: Gulfood moves to March in 2027, and GITEX and WHX now run at Expo City, not the Trade Centre.
GITEX GLOBAL 2026, Expo City Dubai

When crew get booked
When to do what
Now to early October: set up LinkedIn (section 02), register with the staffing agencies in section 04, and make your Liveforce profile (section 05). Say in your message that you are free for GITEX, 7 to 11 December.
Mid-October to November: this is when crew get booked for a December show. Keep early December free, and answer agency calls and messages the same day.
After the show: add GITEX to your LinkedIn experience with your role and photos, then tell the agency you are available for their next event.

Apps UAE event agencies book freelancers through
These are the apps agencies book crew through. If you are not on them, the people hiring cannot find you.
Most crew wait for the agencies to call. Message them first.
Step 1, build your agency list
Google all the agencies listed above: get their website, email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn
Create an Excel sheet: Company Name | Website | Email | Phone | LinkedIn | Last Contact Date | Status
Add every agency, staffing company, and event management firm you find
Aim for 30 to 50 companies at least.
Step 2, reach out everywhere
Send an intro email + WhatsApp message to every contact
Don't be shy about calling: one call is worth 10 emails
If they don't reply, follow up after 1 week
Chase them. In UAE events, people hire who they know.
Step 3, stay on their radar
Every month or two, send a short "hello" message
React or comment on their LinkedIn posts to stay visible
If you worked a job for them, send a brief follow-up message after: "Worked the [event name], great experience. Available for upcoming projects."
It is a small industry, and people remember who followed up.
07
Event courses in the UAE worth the money
Use the quiet months for a certificate. It is one more reason to pick you when hiring starts.
JAM Training, NEBOSH Certificate
A widely recognised H&S qualification in events, construction & venue management, and the one senior safety, operations and site management roles ask for. Book through JAM Training in the UAE. They deliver it locally and often connect you to jobs after.
Crowd management, crowd flow planning, guest experience & event safety planning. Useful if you are going for zone manager, safety officer or operations roles. UAE-based delivery via JAM Training.
Event safety plans, venue safety, working at height, fire safety & rigging. UAE-based, industry-recognised. Completing JAM courses often leads directly to event job placements through JAM.
PMP, Project Management Professional (UAE Institutes)
The standard project management certificate. It helps when you move into event project manager, production manager and operations director roles. Courses run across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and prices vary a lot by institute and format, so compare a few before you pay.
Replace the highlighted parts with your own details, then send it.

What to charge: the 240 AED a day floor
The floor is 240 AED a day, the community rule from section 04: never take a shift for less. Above the floor, the lever is your title. If you've been working the same entry-level role for 2 or 3 years or more, this section is for you. The title you put on your profile is the job you'll keep getting.
The problem with "Usher, 5 years"
Writing "Usher" for every job over 5 years tells a recruiter you have not moved. You probably have: you have looked after VIP guests, controlled crowds, briefed teams and fixed problems during the live show. Your title does not say so yet.
01
If you were an usher in a VIP area
In a VIP area you were the face of the event for its most important guests. You handled VIP access, managed expectations under pressure, and communicated directly with clients and supervisors.
How to do it: Go to ChatGPT or Claude. Type: "I worked as a usher in a VIP lounge at [event name]. My tasks were [list everything you did]. Suggest me 5 professional job titles that reflect this work." Use the best result.
UPGRADE YOUR TITLE
02
If you were a traffic marshal
Traffic marshals direct vehicles, manage flow under stress, communicate with teams across zones, and keep thousands of people safe. That is coordination and safety management.
Better titles to use:
→ Traffic Flow Coordinator
→ Event Transport Marshal
→ VIP Traffic Supervisor (if you handled VIP arrivals)
→ On-Site Traffic Management Officer
And if you've done 4 to 6 events as a traffic marshal? Stop applying for marshal roles. Start targeting Zone Manager, the person who supervises the marshals. You've done the job from the ground up. You know it better than most managers.
TARGET ZONE MANAGER NEXT
03
If you were coordinating between teams
Were you passing information between client managers and staff on the ground? Managing briefings? Making sure the right people were in the right places at the right time? That is coordination, full stop.
Every one of these titles describes work you did, in the words recruiters search for.
YOU ALREADY HAVE THE EXPERIENCE
04
If you were a registration or accreditation usher
Credentials, guest lists, accreditation systems and access control. That is guest management and access control, and the title should say so.
Better titles to use:
→ Accreditation Officer
→ Guest Registration Coordinator
→ Access Control Supervisor
→ Badging & Credentials Officer
SPECIFIC = SEARCHABLE
05
The career ladder, and where you go next
Every event role has a next step. Nobody moves you up by default: start presenting yourself for the next role before you are given it.
Progression map:
Usher / Marshal → Team Leader / Supervisor
Team Leader → Zone Manager
Zone Manager → Operations Coordinator
Operations Coordinator → Operations Manager
Operations Manager → Event Director / Production Manager
The conversation you need to have: After 2 or 3 years in the same role, go to the agency or HR contact and say: "I've been working in this role for [X] years across [Y] events. I know this job inside out and I'm confident I can deliver at supervisor level. I'd like to be considered for that next time."
State your experience and ask. Agencies are always short of reliable supervisors.

10
Questions people ask about UAE event work
Short answers. The detail is in the sections above.
How do I get into the events industry in the UAE with no experience?
Start with the roles the agencies in this guide hire for: hosts, ushers, registration staff and brand ambassadors. Register with the staffing agencies in section 04, make a Liveforce profile, and put every shift on LinkedIn with photos, even one-day jobs. Once you have a few events behind you, section 09 shows how to move up to team leader and supervisor.
Which event staffing agencies in the UAE should I register with?
Start with THA by Armonia (formerly THA Staffing), Vibes Staffing, Xenial Events, JAM Event Services and Event Lab UAE. For traffic and transport work, add MOTUS | ONE and ARGA. Section 04 lists 36 companies, including the organisers behind the big shows and the event management companies that hire for senior roles. Whoever you register with, check the day rate against the 240 AED floor before you accept a shift.
Can I work at events in the UAE on a visit visa?
No. A visit or tourist visa does not let you work in the UAE, and that includes a single event shift. It is illegal to work in the UAE without a valid work permit issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE). If you want to freelance on your own, MoHRE issues a freelance work permit. Before you accept a shift, ask the agency which permit the role needs. Source: UAE Government portal, work permits.
How much should I charge for event work in the UAE?
Never less than 240 AED a day. That is the floor the HUSTLERS community holds every job post to, and a role that pays less does not get posted. Above the floor, pay depends on the role, the hours and the event, so ask for the day rate and the payment date before you say yes.
When is the busy season for event jobs in the UAE?
Work picks up from September and stays busy through the cooler months. Summer is the quiet stretch. Use the quiet months to register with agencies and sort out your LinkedIn, so you are already on their lists when hiring starts. The 2026–27 season runs from ADIPEC (2 to 5 November) through GITEX GLOBAL (7 to 11 December), WHX Dubai and IDEX in late January, to Gulfood (15 to 19 March 2027). Crew for GITEX get booked from mid-October. Section 03 has the full list.
How do I spot a fake event job or agency in the UAE?
Five checks. A real agency never charges you to register or to get a job: UAE labour law puts recruitment costs on the employer, not the worker. Nobody needs your original passport to book a shift. Get the day rate, the hours and the payment date in writing before the day, even on WhatsApp. If a job asks you to work on a visit visa, walk away: working without a permit puts you at legal risk too, not only the company. And before you register, check the company has a working website and a LinkedIn page with real staff on it.
Can I message Ibrahim directly for event work?
Please don't. His WhatsApp number is for people hiring crew, or hiring him. For work, follow the HUSTLERS channel: whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbDmzpS59PwQOp6fCz1T. Anyone can follow it. Vetted UAE roles go up in Hustlers Jobs, and the link to join is on the freelancers page. Join from a UAE WhatsApp number, or the request is not approved. Follow the rules: unprofessional or unethical behaviour means removal.
Is there a WhatsApp group for event freelancers in the UAE?
Yes. HUSTLERS is a free WhatsApp community of 500+ UAE event crew and freelancers in five groups, including Hustlers Jobs for vetted roles. Nothing is posted there under 240 AED a day. Start with the HUSTLERS channel, which anyone can follow, then see which group to join and the house rules.
